"Growing in Christ, serving with love, and shining His light in every generation"

Social holiness transforms faith into practical engagement. It challenges Methodists to extend God’s love beyond personal piety into tangible support for the vulnerable and oppressed.

Social Holiness

Methodism emphasises that personal holiness cannot be separated from social responsibility. John Wesley declared that “there is no holiness but social holiness,” meaning that faith must manifest in acts of love, justice, and service to others.

From its earliest days, Methodism engaged with social issues such as poverty, education, and prison reform. Wesley advocated for care for the marginalised and spoke against slavery, believing that Christian faith demands action for the common good. Today, social holiness is expressed through community outreach, humanitarian initiatives, and advocacy for justice.

Social holiness transforms faith into practical engagement. It challenges Methodists to extend God’s love beyond personal piety into tangible support for the vulnerable and oppressed. By integrating devotion and action, Methodism continues to inspire believers to live faith fully, with both heart and hands committed to service.
