WHAT IS THE WESLEY GUILD?
The Wesley Guild is a fellowship of young people within the Methodist Church. It exists to seek and win youth for Christ and His Kingdom, nurturing them in faith and guiding them toward Christian maturity.
It is a space where young people come together to support one another in their spiritual growth, to build meaningful relationships, to enjoy fellowship, and to respond to the needs of society as they discern them. As a movement within the life and framework of the Church, the Wesley Guild operates under the guidance of the Spirit of God. It promotes the consecration of the whole person to the Lord of all life and, through the warmth and quality of its fellowship, inspires young people to actively engage in God’s service—recognising that His service is perfect freedom.
The Guild sets before its members the reality of the Christian way of life, encouraging them to live it out boldly and to attempt great things for God. Through its fellowship, it bears witness to the truth revealed in Jesus Christ, calling young people to embody that truth in their daily lives.
Aims and Objectives of the Wesley Guild
- To foster and promote discipline in Christ among young people, both within and beyond the Church, through the implementation of the Four C’s for Christ: Consecration, Comradeship, Creativity, and Community Development.
- To encourage active participation in the life of the Church, inspiring young people to devote themselves to its growth and mission, in recognition of the priesthood of all believers.
- To deepen the spirituality of young people by promoting the earnest study of the Bible—both individually and collectively—through Bible studies, discipleship, and evangelistic programmes.
- To cultivate loyalty and commitment to the work of God, and to the mission of the Church in particular.
- To present and embody God through the witness of the Church, reflecting His love, truth, and grace in all aspects of life.
